Premium Baleage: Nutrition That Works as Hard as You Do
At Graff Grown, we don’t believe in cutting corners. We believe in feeding livestock the right way – through thoughtful land management, harvest timing, and hay preservation that delivers real value to ranchers.
Our premium baleage is produced with purpose: to support better gains, reduce waste, and help you get the most out of every acre. Whether you’re feeding cattle, sheep, goats, or horses, baleage is a smart, South Texas-proven solution for year-round nutrition and land productivity.
This isn’t just wet hay wrapped in plastic. It’s high-quality forage harvested at peak nutrition, preserved through fermentation, and stored in a way that works with our climate – not against it.
What Is Baleage?
Baleage is a type of silage – high-moisture hay that’s baled, wrapped, and fermented to lock in nutrients and improve digestibility. It’s especially ideal for South Texas, where dry spells and unpredictable rains can make dry hay production challenging. At Graff Grown, our baleage:- Is harvested at the ideal moisture level (45–65%)
- Wrapped tightly to create an anaerobic environment for fermentation
- Retains more leaf, sugar, and protein than traditional dry hay
- Has fewer weather-related losses
- Is easier on equipment and your feeding schedule
Why Baleage Works for Your Operation
Baleage isn’t just a convenience – it’s a strategy. Compared to dry hay, it offers:- Higher nutritional density for weight gain and milk production
- Better palatability, meaning less waste
- Fewer storage losses, even during hot or rainy months
- Longer feeding windows, thanks to proper fermentation
Our Process: Quality from Field to Wrap
At Graff Grown, we don’t mass-produce bales and hope for the best. Each baleage crop is:- Cut and conditioned at the right stage for maximum feed value
- Tested and monitored for moisture content
- Wrapped quickly and correctly to ensure tight seals and proper fermentation
It’s a hands-on, time-sensitive process – and we do it right, every time.
